BALTIMORE (WBFF) -- Updated 7:30 a.m. March 13 — A full moon lunar eclipse will take to the skies overnight Thursday into early Friday.
This is when the Earth passes between the sun and the moon and casts a shadow on the moon.
While the eclipse gets underway around 1 a.m. the moon won't appear red until 2:30-3:30 a.m. around Baltimore.
Viewing conditions don't look ideal in Maryland with mostly cloudy skies through the viewing time period.
If you do see the moon, send your pictures to weather@foxbaltimore.com or through Chime In.
Skies remain cloudy through the end of the workweek with highs in the cooler mid 50s Thursday and Friday.
